Mayrene "Rene" Deeds



BOOKER - Mayrene "Rene" Deeds, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Booker with 
the Rev. Clifford Baze and the Rev. Brent Farney officiating. Burial will 
be in Heart Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.

Mrs. Deeds was born in Harrah, Okla. Her family moved to the Follett area, 
where she attended the Cope Country School.

She married Trulyn Turner Deeds in 1929 at Follett, where they farmed and 
ranched. In 1946, they moved to a ranch southeast of Booker.

After her husband died, Mrs. Deeds moved to Booker in 1970. She relocated 
in 1998 to the Shattuck Nursing Center.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Booker.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis Deeds of Higgins and Gene Deeds of 
Lubbock; a brother, C.W. Herron of Beaver, Okla.; two sisters, Lola 
Kliewer of Follett and Marnie Baldwin of California; five grandchildren; 
and nine great-grandchildren. 

The family requests memorials be to the Shattuck Nursing Center.
