All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Duncan, Kena Jean Kena Jean, went to meet Jesus face to face on August 17, 2003, at the age of 47, after a long struggle with cancer. She was born December 1, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Kendall Wayne and Evelyn Rae (Farrell) Henthorn, and called south Oklahoma City home all her life. Kena was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who devoted her life to meeting the needs of her family and friends. She was fully devoted to using her time and talents serving the Lord and was active at Mayridge Baptist Church until 1983, when she became a very integral part of Southern Hills Baptist Church. She worked in church Children's choir, sang in the choir, was active in the hand bell ministry and served as a Sunday School secretary, all for many years. In her community of Bridge Creek, she served as a PTO officer, homeroom Mom on several occasions, volunteered in the library, and served as a substitute teacher. She was passionate about reading, especially devotional and inspirational writings. To Kena, everything was about the children. She is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Keith of the home; Daughter, Traci Cook and husband, David of Meeker; Daughter Terri Thomas of Oklahoma City; Son Kyle Duncan and daughter, Katherine Duncan, both of the home; Mother, Evelyn Henthorn of OKC; Sister Lori Bryant and husband, James of Edmond; grandchildren Cole and Zachary Cook, Timmy and Hailey Thomas, nephew Caleb Bryant and niece Emily Bryant, and many other family members and close friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-9:00 PM Wednesday August 20, 2003 at the funeral home. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S. Penn, Oklahoma City.
