She was born to J.W. and Maude Peters on October 13, 1921 in Hastings, OK. She attended Putnam City schools and graduated from High School in Mountain View in 1937. She attended the University of Oklahoma. She married Charles Everett Eagin in September of 1945 and had two daughters. She graduated from Central State College (now UCO) in 1952 and began a 32-year career teaching Home Economics and Drama at Taft Junior High School in Oklahoma City, obtaining her Masters degree from the same college in 1973. After retirement she became an active member of the Lyric Theater Guild and Oklahoma Hospitality and other civic and cultural organizations. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and active in several ministries of both her parish and the wider Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandchild, Matthew DeSpain. She is survived by her sister Jimmie Patee of Oklahoma City, daughter Sherry Johnson of Phoenix, AZ and her husband Terry, daughter Marcy DeSpain of Oklahoma City, grandsons Stephen and Andy Johnson of Phoenix, and granddaughter Danielle DeSpain of Oklahoma City and her husband Robert Adair. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made either to her church or to the CARE Center, P.O. Box 1125, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-1125. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M.
