All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Bakersfield Californian 21 November 2004 EUGENE JAMES ELLISON "BUD" Funeral services were held November 9, 2004 in Atoka, Oklahoma for Eugene James Ellison, 86, who died November 7, 2004 in a local hospital there. Eugene James Ellison was born June 16, 1918 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to P. E. and Maybelle (Davis) Ellison and had been a resident of Atoka since 1991. Bud attended school in Ada, Oklahoma. He married Edna Inez Dew on November 17, 1938 in Ada, Oklahoma. Bud worked for the CCC Camp before his time in the U.S. Navy.He was stationed in the Pacific on an aircraft carrier. He enjoyed playing the fiddle onboard ship and also for many years around Oklahoma. He was a welder and worked many years for Bakersfield Machine Co. in Bakersfield, CA. Bud was a charter member of Valley Baptist Church, Bakersfield: and was a Deacon and member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Atoka. Bud is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez on May 23, 1999; brother, Vernon Ellison; sisters, Frances Ellison Lawson, Faye Ellison Morris and Hazel Ellison Hunter and is survived by his son, Chuck Ellison of Crystal, OK; 3 daughters, Charlotte Maupin (Bob) of Rockwall, TX, Mary Stark (Wyman) of Shafter, CA and Fran Cooksey (Todd) of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Collene Lyons (Danny) of Huntington, UT, Jeffrey Ellison (Claudia) of Ft. Carson, CO, Jennifer Ellison of Virginia Beach, VA, Steven Maupin (Ping) of Grand Prairie, TX, Melanie Sowards (Kevin) of The Colony, TX, Andrea Maupin, of Dallas, TX, Ryan Cartnal (Joelle) of Los Osos, CA, and Carin Cathey (Jason) of Bakersfield, CA; 10 great grandchildren, Candace (Clayton) Bell, Chad and Dallen Lyons, Ryan and Kyle Sowards, Chloe and Lane Cartnal, Matthew, Megan and Maddison Cathey; 1 great great grandchild, Kessler Bell; 2 sisters, Ann Cass of Ada and Margaret Breeden (Logan), of Ada, OK; a very dear and special friend, Kay Whiteley of Atoka, OK; along with numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many very dear and loved friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Oklahoma County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/oklahoma/oklahoma.html
