Roberta died after a lengthily illness, in the home of her long-time care-giver, Dorothy Gilbert, in Edmond on Saturday, May 17th. Roberta graduated at age 16 from Eufaula High School at the top of her class and shortly after, moved to Oklahoma City. She loved current events and politics and began her early career working for several attorneys, then for the State of Oklahoma in the office of the State Treasurer and for the Election Board. Later she worked in the House of Representatives and for the Legislative Council. She then worked in the Chief Clerk's office in the House of Representatives and served in many capacities, including Bill Clerk, until her retirement. During this time she returned to school for further studies and also received her real estate license. Roberta married Ward L. Eadie on June 15, 1940 and they were married 55 years until his death in 1996. Roberta loved music, particularly classical and opera, as well as the theater, and especially enjoyed playing the piano. Although she read music, she was gifted with the ability to 'play by ear'. She also was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed corresponding with and being with her friends and family, keeping them entertained with her lively wit and dry sense of humor. Roberta was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral for many years where she was a member of the Altar Guild, then became a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Edmond after moving there in 1971. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Ward and her four younger siblings; Dale, Mary, Sarah Jane and Eloise.
