All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Foote, Herman Henry Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor, Herman Henry Foote, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 8, 2002. Herman H. Foote was born October 30, 1917, in Montrose, CO, to Jo Louise and Noah E. Foote. Herman married Nellie Imogene Huffman on October 28, 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received a Military Merit Medal, stripe and button for his exemplary service in the U.S. Army. He attended Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, for jet engine testing training and became a Civil Service employee at Tinker AFB, OK, November 9, 1942, serving as Jet Engine Testing Maintenance Foreman. He retired from Tinker AFB on June 29, 1973. He received several honorable recognition and commendations for his innovative recommendations and improvements in instrumentation process control of jet engines. He attended Capitol Hill Baptist Church since 1947 and faithfully served there on the Building and Grounds, Baptismal, and Christmas Eve Candlelight Service Committees for many years and was active in other church activities. He was predeceased by his mother, Jo Louise Foote, and father, Noah E. Foote, and his two sisters, Frances Duke Wagoner and Faye Hobbs. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Nellie, of the home, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was blessed with three surviving children: A daughter, Nola Marie, and husband, Dale Baze, of Oklahoma City. His two surviving sons are Herman Raymond Foote, and David Wayne and wife, Mary Diane Foote, of Oklahoma City. Herman is survived by five grandchildren, Eric S. Baze, Jamey Foote, Shane Foote and wife, Candy, of Oklahoma City; Misty Foote of Norman, OK; Craig Foote and wife, Bretta, of Commerce, TX. He is survived by two great grandchildren, Sydney and Tagan Foote of Oklahoma City. He predeceased his loving two sisters-in-law, Bessie Scherf and husband, Ron, of Bellflower, CA, Mildred Daley and husband, Jesse, of Magnolia, AR, and many dear nieces and nephews. His hobbies included his gifted talent for carpentry, gardening and landscaping. He also was an avid sports fan of football, basketball and baseball. He will always be remembered and loved by his family, friends, neighbors and the many lives he touched in a special way.
