All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Foote, Justice Bernard Justice Bernard (J.B), 82, died Sept 24th with longtime battle of prostate cancer. He was born on Dec. 25, 1919 in Sauna, KS and later moved to Topeka, KS. In 1943 he joined the Army Air Force. He was a radar operator and served as Capt. He was decorated with the European African Middle Eastern service Medal, Air Medal, Three Oak Leaf Clusters and Distinguished flying Cross. He was discharged in 1945. After his discharge he opened a restaurant in Topeka and later a surplus store and then a pet shop. After the flood in Kansas in the early fifties he moved to Oklahoma, lived in Bethany and then to Okla. City. He worked for the Guaranty Laundry and then bought and ran the Persian Cleaners. He sold the cleaning plant and sold Real Estate and Vending Machines until 1975 when he was forced to retire due to a massive stroke. J.B. has been a member of St. Joseph's Old Cathedral for twenty five years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Men's club from its beginning, it was later changed to the Social and Charitable Club which he is also a member. He had a lifetime membership with the Okla. City V.F.W. and belonged to the 456 Bomb Group. He is preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Nancy Foote, daughter Susan Foote and stepson Alfred Bruehl. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lydia (Stottmann) Foote of the home; five sons, David Foote, Dino Foote and wife Cindy, James Foote, all of OkIa. City, and Douglas Duffy and Rex Foote of Topeka, KS; four stepsons, Robert Bruehl, Steven Bruehl and wife Sandy of Okla. City, Frank Bruehl and wife Jan, Michael Bruehl and wife Faith of Moore, Okla; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Franklin Foote and wife Doris of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews. J.B. never met a person he did not like. Everyone knew and loved him for his sense of humor, stories and jokes. He loved to play card games especially poker and had many poker playing friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. There will be a wake service at St. Joseph's Old Cathedral Fri., evening, Sept. 27 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Sat., Sept. 28 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral with burial at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Midwest City.
