Feuerborn Dwight N. Feuerborn, 69, of Lexington, died Thursday at Comanche County Hospital in Lawton. Services will be at10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with Father Ray Akerman officiating. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lexington. Wadley’s Funeral Service in Purcell is handling arrangements. Mr. Feuerborn was born Jan. 8, 1934 in Oklahoma City to Lawrence and Ruby Hill Feuerborn. He was raised in Slaughterville and attended Noble High School. He joined the National Guard in 1950 and was sent to Korea with the 45th Thunderbird Division. During his enlistment, Mr. Feuerborn served in Japan, Germany, Vietnam, Lansing, Mich., and Washington D.C., spending 51/2 years assigned to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and one year with the Military Advisory Group in Vietnam. Mr. Feuerborn was honorably discharged with an E-7 rank in 1974. Mr. Feuerborn married Martha Inez Tillery on Feb. 20, 1954, in Lexington. He was vice president of First State Bank in Lexington from 1974 to 1979. He also owned and operated Sooner Rubber in Lindsay and Sooner Rubber and F&F Specialties in Chickasha. He also helped build the Slaughterville Volunteer Fire Dept. and was Slaughterville City Treasurer. In addition, Mr. Feuerborn received his high school diploma last year. Mr. Feuerborn was a member of American Legion Disabled American Veterans, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 40 & Eight, Old Men’s Breakfast Club, Scottish Rite, Knights of Columbus, Lexington Chamber of Commerce and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Inez, of the home; sons Dwight Jr. and wife, Kim, and David and wife, Theresa, both of Ponca City, Jeff of Lexington, and Eric and wife, Carla, of Anadarko; daughter Cheryl Schmidt of Blanchard; brother Donald of Mississippi; sisters Dolores Littlefield of Chickasha, Virginia Walker and Ellen Poole, both of Arizona; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Oklahoma County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/oklahoma/oklahoma.html
