All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Fergason, Oliver Hubert Oliver Hubert, left this earth suddenly on August 10, 2002, to join his beloved wife of 63 years in Heaven. He was born May 16, 1911, to Floyd Bishop and Louella Hill, in Custer City, OK, where he grew up and attended school. He married his high school sweetheart, Velma Sherbourne, on May 12, 1935. They moved to California in 1937 and to South Oklahoma City in 1941, where Hubert has been residing for the past 61 years. 'Fergie' spent 50 years in Local #344 as a heating and air conditioning serviceman. He was always available to 'help out' former clients. As an active member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church since 1941, he belonged to the Methodist Men's Group and Trustees. He spent part of each Saturday making sure the heat/ air unit was working properly for services on Sunday. He was a generous donor to the church financially and with his time and skills. Hubert was active in PTA's at Shields, Capitol Hill, Southeast and Grant. He participated in little league, was a father figure to all his children's friends and could be counted on for whatever was needed. Preceding him in death were his wife and baby son, Hubert Jr. Also his parents, three sisters and three brothers. Hubert is survived by his children, Frank & Jane Fergason, Fran & Don Herring, and Bill & Karen Fergason; grandchildren are, Cindy & Rick Cole, Randy & Becky Herring, Katy & Harell Smith, Elizabeth Fergason, Rick & Carla Herring, Kelly & Don DeSoto and Kevin Fergason; great grandchildren are, Pvt. Richard Paulk, Robin Fergason, Randon Paulk, Brian Herring, Amy Herring, Brandon DeSoto, Rikki Herring, Austin Cole, and Adam Cole. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lambuth Memorial Fund. Services were held 10:30 AM Wed. at Vondel Smith South. VONDEL L. SMITH & SON MORTUARY 6934 S.
