Fortner, Cherie Avon Cherie Avon Fortner was born on July 10, 1928 in Okla. City to Arthur Hugh and Rena Fortner and went to meet the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, after a well fought fight with cancer. She is survived by her beloved brother, Arthur Ronald Fortner of the family home that he remodeled and restored after the death of their Mom Rena Fortner. It is in Bush Hills where Cherie and Ron both grew up and the family has shared many happy memories for three generations. It is a testimony of the love that Ron and Cherie had for their parents, each other, family and the Lord. She is also survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Yvonne Dee Tritten Otts and husband Robert Otts; granddaughter that was her pride and joy, Stephanie Denee Otts Brown and her husband Michael Brown; beloved friend, like no other in the world, James Anderson, Virginia Johnson, Gala Davis, sister- in-law, Ann Fortner; nephews Barry and Randy Fortner; also loving friends Vivian and Max along with countless others whose prayers and love sustained and gave us strength in the last days of this most dreaded illness. All of which will join us in a celebration of victory at the memorial service for Cherie at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 10:00 AM, Saturday August 27th. There, we will celebrate her life and the victory she has because of Jesus in the eternal life to come. The family will receive vistors from 6-8pm on Friday, Aug. 26th at Guardian West Funeral Home.
