He died July 29, 2002. He lived a wonderful life for over forty-one years, most of it in Choctaw, OK. We will miss this brilliant, smiling, caring person that somehow always knew what to say to make others feel better about themselves and the day. This young man was a joy to know and he had such wit, logic and an analytical mind. Rock attended Western Oaks Elementary, Choctaw Schools and Rose State. He enjoyed sales very much and liked talking and dealing with the public. He also was given that gift to be able to play the piano by ear and also the drums. He was employed at CAC in the Oil Center Towers. Music was inspirational to him and he enjoyed flower gardening. He liked learning about new discoveries and was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and scrabble master. He read with a passion and preferred special blend coffee. Rock will be missed by many relatives and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Renee and stepson, Chris Vann of the home; his mother and stepfather, Boyd and Deborah Kennedy of Oklahoma City; his father, Charles Mayfield of South Carolina; and his adopted father, Bill Freels of Oklahoma City. He has a host of brothers and sisters, namely, Tamara Lookabaugh of Moore, OK, Brandon Freels of Bloomington, MN, Georgia Prussell of New York City, and Cheryl Mayfield of California. Rock was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Fred and Modine Stevens of Choctaw, OK. He has over two-hundred relatives living in the State of Oklahoma. Rocky's life exuded with warmth and a loving, giving, nature. In lieu of flowers, you might wish to contribute to the American Heart Association or any other heart affiliate. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 3, 10:00 AM, at Demuth Funeral Home located at 1145 W. Britton Rd. in Oklahoma City.
