All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--OKC OK Frank, Florence Maney Florence Maney, 92, died Friday, February 21, 2003, at her home in Oklahoma City. She was the daughter of James W. and Alphonsena (Gerrer) Maney, prominent pioneer residents of El Reno and Oklahoma City. Her husband, Charles H. Frank, preceded her in death. Florence graduated from Classen High School, attended Trinity College in Washington, DC, and then graduated from the University of Oklahoma. She received her Master of Social Work from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. She enjoyed a long career of service to the children of Oklahoma through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, where she helped develop the board responsible for licensing day care centers that operate throughout the state. Florence was a devoted member of Our Lady's Cathedral and was active in numerous charitable, social and civic organizations. In 1991, she was honored by Our Lady's Cathedral for her lifetime of Christian service and in 2001 she received the Archbishop Beltran Community Service Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and service to children and families throughout Oklahoma. She is survived by four nephews and their wives: John Paul and Genevieve Braniff, James H. and Jo Ann Holden, Michael and Nema Maney, all of Oklahoma City, and James Maney of San Antonio, TX. Three nieces survive: Sister Phyllis Braniff, SND of Washington, DC, Katherine Broekhuysen of Edmond, and Margaret Ann Dean and her husband, Charles, of Leland, MS. Sue Loftis, Lynda Lewis and Bonita Burns of Home Instead, and Hospice of Oklahoma County provided wonderful care to Florence during her final illness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Catholic Charities, 1501 N. Classen, OKC, OK 73106, or Our Lady's Cathedral, 3214 N. Lake, OKC, OK 73118. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with burial at Fairlawn Cemetery. SMITH & KERNKE 1401 NW 23rd ST.
