All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Friar, Gerald Lynn "Gerry" GERALD 'GERRY' LYNN FRIAR, age 55, Shawnee, passed away July 23, 2002. He was born July 22, 1947, in Oklahoma City, OK to Jack and Thelma Friar. After graduating from Crooked Oak High School, he married his high school sweetheart Christine Coats. He then joined the U.S. Army & served his country proudly for 2 years during the Vietnam War. He & Christine had 2 children, Sherry Tune of Blanchard, OK and Shawn Friar of Choctaw, OK. Gerry was skilled with woodworking & loved to be in the shop. He also enjoyed fishing with his son. He spent the last years of his life creating beautiful pieces of furniture & clocks made from wood. His time on earth was short but he will forever be missed. Gerry's remains were cremated in OKC per his wishes. Gerry is survived by his wife Christine of the home; his daughter Sherry Tune & her husband Jerry; his son, Shawn Friar; 5 grandchildren, Kristy, Conner, Chandler, Caleb, & Bradley; his mother Thelma Friar; 2 nieces, Jamar Cole & her husband Jeff & their son; Teresa Smith & her sons; as well as numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK. Services will be under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
