All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lee Roy Goodwin PAMPA - Lee Roy Goodwin, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Allen, retired minister of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Goodwin was born in Newalla, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1956 from Purcell, Okla. He was an Army sergeant, serving during World War II. He worked for White's Auto Store for six years as a delivery man and then worked for the Celanese Corp. as a steel worker for 10 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post at Pampa, the Auctioneers Association and the Church of God. He was a horse trainer and racehorse owner. He married Quanah June Upton in 1961 at Pampa. She died in 1990. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Darlene Goodwin of Colorado, Debra Owens of Pampa and Sharon Fick of Borger; two sons, Vernon Lee Goodwin of Oklahoma City and Calvin J. Cockrell of Fort Worth; a brother, Glen Goodwin of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Roberta Goodwin of Oklahoma City. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176.
