All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Goodrich, Elvin Raymond Elvin Raymond Goodrich, 86, of Oklahoma City, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 with his family at his side. Elvin was born on November 28, 1916 in Golden City, Missouri to Nellie Rose Blue and Henry R. Goodrich. On January 16, 1959 he married Florence Meench in Sapulpa, OK. Elvin served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. Elvin earned a degree in Chemical Engineering and he began his career with Phillips Petroleum. Elvin could be described as an entrepreneur. He was a truck driver, salesman for Granger and DuBois Chemical, and through all of this he was a part of the family business, Goodrich Environmental Products Inc. which he was apart of until his retirement in 1999. Elvin was very proud of his many inventions, which are still being marketed and sold today. Elvin was a man of strong Christian faith and he shared the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ with all whom he encountered. He served the Lord as a faithful member of Eagle Heights Church; throughout the years Elvin was a Sunday School teacher and served on numerous committees. He was also a member of the Classic Car Club of America, Horseless Carriage Association and the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his devoted wife Florence of the home, 4 loving children; Deanna Smith and her husband Jay of Kansas City, MO, Mark Goodrich and his wife Kelly of OKC, David Goodrich of Kansas City, MO, Denise Brown and her husband Gary of OKC, three grandchildren; LaVoyd Williams, II of Fort Worth, TX, Melody Hallman and her husband Phil of Garland, TX, Brenna Goodrich of OKC, three great grandchildren; Charity Howard of Edmond, OK, LaVoyd Williams III of Fort Worth, TX, and Trista Williams of Sunset, TX. Services celebrating the life of Elvin Goodrich will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2003 at Eagle Heights Church, 12000 S. I-44. Interment will follow in Sunny Lane Cemetery.
