She was born in Brock Indian Territory, June 16, 1906 to Virginia May Rabun Reed and Robert Haskel Reed. Margaret attended Mary Hardin-Baylor boarding "school for young ladies". She then attended Baylor University. In 1926 she married William Kennard Golden of Clifton, Texas. They lived in Waco, Georgetown, Amarillo and finally settled in Oklahoma City. They had one daughter Meredith Margaret. Margaret and her family were active members of Wesley Methodist Church and she was active in P.T.A. and many civic and study clubs. In 1966, Bill retired and they moved to Lake Belton, Texas, where they lived for seven years. At Bill's death, Margaret moved to Hereford, Texas to be with her family, Meredith Wilcox and Jack Wilcox. She led a rich life and active life filled with many friends. She traveled the world, red and did hand work. Her love of life, personal strength, wit, charm, and elegance will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her sister, Vianna Thomas of Davidson, Oklahoma; Meredith Wilcox, daughter and son-in- law Jack Wilcox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Three granddaughters, Margaret Ann Gilmore, Norman, Oklahoma, Meredith Sadler, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Julia Gold, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two son-in-laws, Danny Sadler and Joe Gold; six great grandchildren, Jesse Gilmore, Norman Oklahoma, Allison Gilmore, Norman, Oklahoma, Meg Sadler, Will Sadler and Sam Sadler, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Austin Gold, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Five nephews, Troy Thomas, Davidson, Oklahoma, Frederick Lewis, Ft. Worth, Texas; Kennard Early, Ft. Worth, Texas; Robert Reed and Paul Reed. Two nieces, Jennie Lou Ninnicki and Rene Walters. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 10:00 AM in at North Belton Cemetery in Belton, Texas with Rev. Bobby Baggett officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that your donations be made to the Oklahoma University Research Foundation, 1000 Stanton L. Young Boulevard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73117. Later this month, the family request all friends to attend a Memorial for Margaret at her loving church, Chapel Hill Methodist Church in Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma.
