Obit of Geller, Janet - Oklahoma County, Oklahoma Submitted by: Gene Phillips 9 Dec 2004 Return to Oklahoma County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/oklahoma/oklahoma.html ========================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE Copyright. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Geller, Janet Janet born June 8, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lillian and Earl Marcus, passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2002, at her home in Austin, from ovarian cancer, which she fought bravely and with humor for more than five years. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Malcolm; and four children, all of Austin, Barbara Geller, Benjamin Geller, Stephanie Geller Crow and husband Alvin, and Robert Geller and wife Linda; brother, Murray Marcus of Dallas; sister, Carol Bendorf of OKC; six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Janet was a connoisseur of life's most beautiful gifts, including her many lifelong friends, cooking and fine food, flowers, travel, and most of all, her grandchildren - always ready with a packet of photos and funny stories. During her life she worked tirelessly on behalf of many Jewish causes including Hadassah and Temple B'nai Israel in OKC. She retired from her job at Neiman Marcus as one of the top salespersons of all time. She spent countless hours conquering jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Janet's biggest accomplishment, however, was raising four children, all wonderful, caring, giving and funny people, just like their mother. They were all at Janet's side until the very end. Services were held 3 p.m., Sept. 23, 2002. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Gilda Radner Ovarian Cancer Registry, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263, 800-685-6825, ext. 4503.
