He went on to our Lord peacefully in the presence of his family. Joe served his country in the infantry at the Normandy Invasion in WWII. He was preceded in death by his best friend and wife of 29 years, Colleen Priscilla. He was also preceded in death be his brother Ignatius L. Gandara. He is survived by his son, Joe D. Gandara, and his daughters, Stephanie Anne Bradley, Sherrie Cortesio, Mary Beth Hoffman, Catherine Marie Hirschman, and Laurie Williams. He is also survived by his brothers Louis Gandara and Enrique P. Gandara and his sister Margarita E. Gandara. Joe was a wonderful grandfather to 19 grandchildren and loved his numerous nieces and nephews. Joe loved his family, his church and friends and was known as an instrument of peace. He enjoyed organic gardening, writing, meeting and conversing with people from all walks of life. His committment to his faith as a Catholic and to his family was evident to all.
