from the Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, 16 Jul 1957, p9:

"RETIRED NURSE LENA A. GRIEP DIES IN HOSPITAL - Miss Lena A. Griep, 81-
year-old retired nurse of 615 N. Lee, died Monday in St. Anthony's 
hospital following a lengthy illness. Servcies are scheduled tentatively 
for 10 a.m. Thursday in Watts funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial 
Park cemetery.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Miss Griep graduated from the Cook County 
hospital school of nursing, Chicago, in 1909, and in 1917 came to 
Oklahoma. Until Jan. 1, 1923, she was in charge of the El Reno sanitarium.

From 1923 to 1926 she was in charge of the Oklahoma hospital, Tulsa. After 
practicing privately for a number of years, she retired in 1942. She had 
lived in Oklahoma City since 1947 with a sister, Miss Elsie M. Griep, the 
sole survivor."
