All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Gross II, Richard William "Bill" Richard William "Bill" Gross II, 56, died Wednesday, January 1, 2003 in Pitt County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium. Mr. Gross was born in Olean, New York on September 15, 1946 to Mr. Richard Wm. Gross and Catherine "Cookie" Gross. A 1964 graduate of Olean High School, he served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force for four years. In 1972 he married Nancy Reeland, and moved to Moore, Oklahoma where they resided for 17 years. While there he received an Associate degree in Business Management from Oscar Rose College. He was employed in the retail grocery business for over 30 years before moving to North Carolina. A resident of Greenville since 1989, he worked for Greenville Nissan and Grant Buick Mazda until illness forced his early retirement. Mr. Gross was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Reeland Gross; a son, Kyle Gross and wife, Teresa, of Greenville; a daughter, Melissa Morgan and husband, Steve, of Grifton; two granddaughters, Shelby Morgan of Grifton and Kylie Gross of Greenville; his mother, Catherine Gross of Olean, NY; two brothers, Rodney Gross of Newport, NC and Sidney Gross of Fayetteville, NC; a niece and nephew. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3015 S. Memorial Drive, Suite A, Greenville, NC 27834; St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 401 E. 4th St., Greenville, NC 27858; or Pitt County Memorial Hospital, 2100 Stantonsburg Road, Greenville, NC 27834.
