Green, Jr., 81, died on Saturday, September 28, 2002 from complications following open-heart surgery. John was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 23, 1921 to John A. Green and Josephine. He is survived by Gladys E. Green, his loving wife of 57 years, his son Thomas C. Green and his wife Terri L. Green, his daughter Carolyn S. Shave and her son John Shave, his sister Louise Trenholm and her husband Derrill and their three children, Ellen, John and David and their families. John graduated from Classen High School, the University of Oklahoma College of Business Administration, and Oklahoma City University College of Law. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1948 and was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar and the U.S. Tax Court in 1952 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1969. His professional affiliations include: Special Master and Referee, District Court, Oklahoma County, 1970; 1972-1974. Vice President, 1974 and President, 1975, Oklahoma City Tax Lawyers Group. Member, Oklahoma City Historical and Landmark Commission, 1977-1992, Member, Board of Trustees, 1989-2002, and Treasurer, 1989-2002, Oklahoma County Medical Society Community Foundation Member: Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and American (Member, Sections on: Real Property, Probate and Trust Law; Corporation, Banking and Business Law) Bar Associations; Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (Vice President, 1952); American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He held membership in the Downtown Kiwanis for 25 years and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves as a Lt. (JG) from 1941-1945 and the reserves from 1946 -1960. He was a life member in the American Numismatic Association. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Quail Springs Baptist Church in Oklahoma City or a charity of your choice. Memorial Services will be held at Quail Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at 10:00 AM, with burial at Rose Hill Burial Park. SMITH & KERNKE 14624 N.
