Wendell O., age 87, died Thursday 12-19-02, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. He was born January 31, 1915 in Guymon, Oklahoma. In 1933 he moved to Oklahoma City and worked with his father for the Praetorian Mutual Insurance Company. In 1937 he married his beloved 'Millie' with whom he shared 57 loving years. Wendell served honorably in World, War II where he was wounded and earned two Purple Hearts. He worked for 32 years at the US Post Office and after his retirement and until his death worked as an agent for American National Insurance Company. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Siloam Lodge. Wendell was a member of Crown Heights Christian Church, and had faithfully attended Western Oaks Christian Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, parents William and Sarah Grimm, brothers Hervey and John, sisters Mary, Margaret, Vella, and Lois. He is survived by his daughter Jan Sills, grandchildren Todd Sills, Wendi Howry and husband Tom, great grandchildren Chandler, Sarah, and Kyla, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He loved being with his family more than anything. His life, his courage, his generosity, and his love will always be an inspiration to our family. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 23, 2002 at the Guardian West Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
