Lorene O. Gunter

Lorene O. Gunter, 81, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in BlackburnShaw Memorial Chapel 
with Dr. Larry Payne of Coulter Road Baptist Church officiating. 
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Gunter was born in Shamrock and was a longtime resident of 
Amarillo. She was a switchboard operator for the Amarillo's Veterans 
Affairs Health Care System. She transferred to Oklahoma City to work 
in government communications, retiring in 1981. She was a member of 
Coulter Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Callie Combest of Amarillo; a brother, 
Uil Gunter of Olton; and a special friend, May Tippin of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and 
Affiliates, 600 W. 11th Ave. The family will be at 7309 Holyoke.
