All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Hostetter, Carroll Funeral Services for Carroll Hostetter, age 73, of Edmond, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17th, 2002 at First Christian Church of Edmond with interment following at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond. Carroll Don 'C.D.' Hostetter was born July 18th, 1929 in Warwick, Okla. to Roy and Marvel Hostetter. Carroll passed away on Sept. 14th, 2002, surrounded by his family at his home in Edmond. Carroll attended Edmond High School lettering in baseball and basketball. He then played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals' organization. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he continued his baseball career on the U.S. Special Services baseball team. After his time in the Army, Carroll received his masters degree from Central State College. He taught and coached several years at Franklin High School prior to teaching at Central High School in Okla. City. He then left teaching and began his career with the State Department of Rehabilitative Services until his retirement in 1987. Carroll married Margaret Whelan on Sept. 3rd, 1954 in Edmond, Okla. They have been married 48 years. He is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Nancy Pennell of Edmond; daughter, Janie Sallinger and her husband Jay of Tulsa; daughter, Kari Wasemiller and her husband Neal of Edmond; grandchildren, Nicholas and Kelsey Pennell, Cole Wasemiller, Evelyn and Lillian Sallinger. Carroll was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mercy Hospice, 4300 W. Memorial Rd. OKC, OK 73120.
