All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Hawkins Jr., Ananias Ananias Hawkins, Jr., known throughout the community as Bishop and Apostle Ananias Hawkins, was born February 2, 1955, in Memphis, Tenn. He was one of four children born to Ananias Sr. and Juanita Hawkins. He departed this life Friday, November 29, 2002. His father preceded him in death. Ananias met Susan Elizabeth Shaw, on January 15, 1977, and they went on to be married. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Ananias was with Jesus Church Ministries in Oklahoma City for seven years as an Assistant Pastor. Eventually, he used his apostolic gift to serve as Pastor of Jesus Church Ministries for 18 months. At the completion of that assignment, Ananias gave birth to the vision that God had given him and Unity Christian Center was established with 120 members on March 11, 1996. The church, a "life-changing center," moved to its present home at 36 W. Memorial Road in Oklahoma City on August 17, 1997. Apostle Ananias Hawkins and his wife, Pastor Susan, led by example, being both Godly and down-to-earth leaders to their growing congregation. Pastor Ananias also became bishop and founder of Unity of the Faith Fellowship, which serves as a covenant covering and parent organization for several other churches and ministries within the body of Christ. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Susan of Edmond; and four children, Derrick Lang of San Antonio, Texas, Kourtney Hawkins, Adam Hawkins, and Ananias Hawkins, III, all of Edmond; his mother, Juanita Hawkins of Memphis; two brothers, Michael and Wayne Hawkins of Memphis; one sister, Carolyn Shaw of Memphis; a host of family, friends and church family that loved him dearly. The funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., at Church of the Harvest, 6800 N. Bryant. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Services conducted by McKay-Davis Funeral Home.
