M. Hutchinson ... Britton Pioneer Dies at age 65. Son of former U.S. Marshal to be buried this afternoon Robert Miles Hutchinson, 65 year-old 1890er and former deputy U.S. Marshal, died Friday at his farm home northwest of Britton. He had been iII since suffering a paralytic stroke three years ago. Hutchinson was born Feb. 20, 1875 at Biggsville, II. * At the time of the run his family homesteaded at the sight of the present farm home where Hutchinson had lived since, ** except for a six year period spent at Snyder prior to 1915. Hutchinson served as deputy in 1892 and 1893 under his father, S. S. Hutchinson, United States Marshal, who died in 1920. He operated a cotton gin while at Snyder. He was a thirty-second degree Mason and a life member of the Britton Masonic lodge, a member of the Guthrie consistor, a Shriner and a member of the India Temple in Oklahoma City. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Loretta Hutchinson; a son, Frank Hutchinson of Edmond, a daughter, Miss Alice Hutchinson of the home address and two brothers, J. M. Hutchinson of Oklahoma City and B. W. Hutchinson of Roosevelt. Services will be at 3:PM Saturday in the Me. Church at Britton. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery here with Masonic lodge #434 in charge. The Britton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. * incorrect place of birth ... should be near Ainsworth, Washington County, IA.
