All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Vesta Hampsten OKLAHOMA CITY - Vesta Hampsten, 81, died Wednesday, July 16, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Church of Christ at Hooker with Don Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mrs. Hampsten was born in Hooker and graduated from Hooker High School in 1934. She married Otis Hampsten in 1936 at Ulysses, Kan. They lived in Hooker until World War II, when they moved to Wichita, Kan. They lived in Wichita for three years before returning to Hooker, where they farmed. Mr. Hampsten died in 1989. Mrs. Hampsten was a member of Church of Christ of Hooker and the Builders and Doers. She had written the Duncan family history. Survivors include five daughters, Sharon Houseman of Liberal, Kan., Donita Paulk of Haven, Kan., Janice Dorsch of Oklahoma City, Kathleen Ruthledge of Choctaw and Carolyn Wischoff of Kingwood, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to any local hospice or a favorite charity c / o Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Okla. 73945.
