All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Hampton, Helen Helen, 86, previously of MWC, passed away Jan. 2, 2003 in Northridge, CA. She was born in OKC April 3, 1916; she was the last surviving child of Dr. Kenneth J. and Myrtle Wilson. After graduating from Choctaw High School in 1934 she briefly attended Oklahoma A & M, then attended Hills Business School and pursued a career as a secretary. She was married to Emmett Staley, a schoolteacher, from 1943 until his death in 1957, and then in 1958 married Max Hampton, who died in 1979. Her only child, James R. Staley, graduated from MWC High School and Oklahoma University. His New York Stage and Hollywood acting career was her favorite past time. Helen worked a combined 43 years at Tinker Air Force Base and Oklahoma State Health Department. Having resided at E. Rose Drive in MWC for 41 years, she agreed to move to California in 1999 to be near her son, his wife Barbara, and their sons, Ryan and Darren. She is also survived by Ed & Lou Thompson and Nick & Judy Wilson of OKC. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Dr. Charles Wilson & Kenneth Wilson, and a sister, Bernice Thompson. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Weds., at Kolb Cemetery.
