He was born Nov. 29, 1921 in Sublette, Illinois and graduated from Amboy High School in 1938. He attended pre-engineering courses in Aeronautical Engineering at Curtis Wright Technical Institute in Glendale, CA. In 1941, Ken began work for Lockheed/Vega Airplane Company at Burbank in the Loft Department prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Navigational Instructor. In 1943, Ken married Eloise Brown in State Center, IA. In 1946 he returned to school and completed his BA in Math and Physics at Cornell College, IA and transferred to Iowa State to complete a BA in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Ken worked for GE Aircraft Engines in Evendale, OH. Ken's GE career led to a position in Shelbyville, IN, and later to OKC in 1963 where he held Cost Accounting responsibilities in Military Communications. In retirement, Ken has worked as a tax counselor to the elderly and was a member of the board of directors for the Contact 24-hour help line. He has also contributed much of his time enriching other's lives with his gift of music. He regularly played keyboard at Oklahoma nursing homes and for the Oklahoma State Fair.
