Born June 19, 1929 in Oklahoma City. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. He also served in the Forest Service as a Smokejumper making 109 jumps. Nothing thrilled him more than being able to transfer his knowledge to children and young people. He was a loving and compassionate husband whose primary concern was the care of his wife to whom he was married for 9 years and 10 months seeing her through several surgeries and the disease of Lupus from which she was divinely healed 2 years prior to his death. Preceding him in death are his parents, Irvin and Marion Hurst and his sister, Carol George. Mourning his loss are his wife, Juanita Patton Hurst; his sons, David Hurst of Clovis, CA and Anthony Hurst of Oakland, CA; Jim Patton of Edmond and Bill Patton of Fountain, CO; a brother, Owen Hurst of Duncan, OK; and a host of grandchildren, family and friends.
