All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Daily Oklahoman 4 Aug 2002 Harder, Justin Paul Surrounded by those he loved, Justin Paul Harder of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with his Heavenly Father August 2, 2002. He was born March 20, 1918 in Toledo, Ohio to Fred and Anna Harder. He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Jo Harder and Loreta Harder. He is survived by his children, Lee and Donna Harder and David and De Anna Remy of Oklahoma City, Craig and Nolita Johnson of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Richard and Pam Harder, John and Christy Harder, Sean Remy, Stephen Remy, Jennifer Johnson; great grandchildren, John, Halee and Caitlyn. They will all miss him greatly. While still in high school, Justin performed as a jazz pianist while accompanying and arranging for Teresa Brewer and playing with Big Bands. After graduating from Wade High School in Toledo, Justin joined the U.S. Navy where he served as a 2nd Lt. as a flight instructor and a dirigible pilot in World War II. Following the war, Justin earned a degree in business from Toledo University and later married Mary Jo Olive from Idabel whom he had met while being stationed at Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Justin was called to the Methodist ministry while living with his family in Idabel. Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Masters in Divinity from Southern Methodist University, Justin ministered charges throughout the Oklahoma Methodist conference. Justin had a love for God and shared that love with his fellow man while integrating the first church in Oklahoma City. Justin had a desire to continue to learn and carried his need to Iluf University in Colorado where he continued studies in divinity. After retiring from the ministry, Justin worked for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission in Oklahoma City. His gift of love continued beyond his employment at the tax commission as he worked with children as a volunteer, assistant, and substitute teacher in the Oklahoma City Schools. Just weeks before his death, Justin volunteered as he continued to work with a student. Justin's devotion to God and his family are immeasurable. Because of God's love, Justin loved his fellow man as he was loved. The world is no doubt a better place because of Justin.
