All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.html ========================================================================== Horn, Roger Allen Roger Allen Horn died from heart failure on Friday, August 12, 2005, in the afternoon. He was 55 years old. Roger's passions were his family, bird watching, ecology, equal rights for all, and the protection of native plant species. Roger learned parenting techniques and desired parenting classes to be available to all. Born in Tulsa and raised in eastern Oklahoma, Roger loved the music of Woody Guthrie. He worked for an immigration attorney at the time of his death, and had previously worked as a quality control technician at an engineering firm, a maintenance person at the ARK shelter for homeless families, as well as a school and hotel, had been a home remodeling contractor, a land man for a drilling company, a journalist and novelist, a welder, and a communications specialist in the Air Force. His parents, Kenneth and Era Horn, preceded him in death. His wife, Joanne, and his son, Jacob, survive him, as do his siblings Kenneth and Martha Horn (San Diego, CA), Barbara Horn (Kimberling, MO), Peggy and Tom Booker (Richmond, IN), and John and Neysa Horn (Poteau, OK). His extended family from 30 years of marriage to Joanne also mourns him, including Mary Akers (Elizabethtown, KY), Thomas and Lynda Bryant (Midwest City), Gregory Bryant (Midwest City), Julia and Leo Staples (Choctaw), Michele and Deon Elliott (Midwest City), Christopher and Angela Bryant (Chattanooga, TN), and Stephen and Angela Bryant (Nicoma Park). Special people who will grieve him include Brenda Horn (Perry) and Raven LaBlanc (Oklahoma City). Many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends will greatly miss him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his name to the Audubon Society. Services will be Monday, August 15, at 2:00 PM, at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.
