All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Maysville Cemetery--Maysville OK Hill, Lloyd Wilmer Lloyd Wilmer Hill Born February 22, 1924, at Burbank, Oklahoma to J.V. and Winnie Neal Hill. Died: Easter Sunday morning, April 20, 2003, at the Ardmore Hospital. Age: 79. Lloyd Hill has been associated with this area for many years. He went to school here in Maysville and later graduated from Cox City High School in 1943. On October 18, 1943, he married Gearldeen Overstreet at Marlow, Oklahoma. Lloyd was drafted into the Air Force in July of 1943. He served in Burma, China and India serving until October, of 1945. He then became an active member of the American Legion until his health failed. Lloyd was currently a patient in the Veterans Hospital in Ardmore. On March 4, 1949, Lloyd went to work for the Ohio Oil Company which later became Marathon Oil Company, working in Oklahoma, Kansas and Michigan retiring in June of 1985. Lloyd always enjoyed his Church work, especially in the music area. He was a former choir director at Blanchard, First Baptist Church, First Baptist in Moore and Hillsdale Baptist Church at Hillsdale, Michigan and also led singing in numerous revivals. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, trapshooting and camping-he later worked with stained glass and polishing rocks and Folk Art painting. After retiring in Michigan, he and Gerry moved back to Pauls Valley and in 1990 back to Maysville. Lloyd loved the Dan Malone Sunday School Class and, he and Gerry are faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Maysville. Survivors: 1 son Lloyd Hill Jr. and his wife Norma of Littleton, Colorado and 1 daughter Pamela Dean Perew and her husband Gary of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. He is survived by other relatives and a great number of friends made throughout the years. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Lucille Jarman, and a little brother Lawrence Wilburn Hill. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Maysville, with burial in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysvillle. The Maysville American Legion Post will present the Flag to the family.
