Born May 14, 1923 in Dempsey, Oklahoma to Bert Monroe and Mary Etta Risner-Hillman, he and his family relocated to Oklahoma City in 1951 and he founded Hillman Plumbing Company in 1954. At the time of Gale's death, he was the oldest license plumber in the state of Oklahoma. He was known to many as "The one-armed plumber". When Gale wasn't running his company, he would most certainly be found supporting his loved ones in one form or another. Gale was a devoted family man, husband, father, grandfather and "Big Pa." He found immense pleasure in attending his great- grandchildren's sporting and academic events, playing dominoes, laughing, spreading joy to others and sincerely enjoying life. He touched not only their lives but also the hearts of anyone fortunate enough to meet him. He will not soon be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alene; five brothers, Clarence, Leonard, Roland, Leroy, and Leon; and one great-grandson, Mikey. Gale is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorene; one son, Tim Sr., of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Jaurita of Midwest City; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at the Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home in Midwest City.
