House, Joseph Austin Joseph Austin age 84 passed away at home on March 7, 2003. He was born on Jan. 31, 1919 in Indianola, OK on a farm. When WWII started he answered the call of duty enlisting in the Army and earned one Silver Service Star and one Bronze Service Star before being honorably discharged in 1945. He then served 30 years in the US Postal Service and was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and immediate survivors include daughter Annette Williams and her husband Alan, and was a proud uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, March 12 at Hunter Funeral Home of Capitol Hill with burial at 3:00 PM at Shady Grove Cemetery.
