All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Irwin Jr., Rex Rex Irwin, Jr. died Thursday, November 28, 2002 of complications from lung cancer. Rex was born in Madison, Wisconsin October 15, 1943 to Rex and Orpha Lea Irwin. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1961. He was proud to be on the Knights Football Team which his dad coached. After college he worked for the Social Security Administration until his retirement in 2000. He was a survivor of the Murrah Building Bombing. He loved his co-workers at Social Security and we will always be grateful for their friendship and support. Rex was an avid OU football fan and was able to attend some home games this fall. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dolores (Meinhardt); his son Quinn and daughter- in-law Terese; son Travis; mother Orpha Lea Irwin; sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and Nick Netherton. Aunts Kate Thurman and Norene Irwin. Cousins: Gene, Gary and Mike Goosetree, Judy and Eugene Thurman, David, Anne and Joe Hayes, Mike and Joe Irwin; and many more family and friends. A celebration of Rex's life will be held in the spring of 2003 at Lake Canton, which was Rex's home away from home. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. A very special thank you to Rex's mother for making it possible for Rex to be at home; to Dr. Aleda Toma and her nurses, Connie, Vicky and Pat and to Delores" co-workers at Integris Mental Health.
