All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Jones, Rose Etta Rose Etta (See), passed away August 3, 2002, in her home, at age 99. She was born in Wheatley, Ark., to Marion and Anna (Lawson) See, on October 4, 1902. She moved to Oklahoma after the death of her father when she was 3 years of age. As a young lady living in Konawa, Oklahoma, she was employed as an independent telephone operator. She met her husband, W.F. (Jum) Jones, and they married and had four daughters. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1941. She was proud to be called a 'Rosie the Riveter' while employed at Tinker Air Force Base and was honored at the first dinner they had for all living 'Rosies.' She has been an active member, in good standing, in the Oriole Rebekah Lodge #204 for 65 years, member of Local and National AARP, and a member of Integris Southwest Medical Center 'Healthy Heart Walking' Club. She had many hobbies and was able to enjoy them until she became ill last year. She loved to fish, always had a flower and vegetable garden, growing yard long beans was her specialty, traveling on trips to the National Conventions with her lodge, and with her family to many interesting places. She is survived by three daughters, Betty 'Toni' Jones of the home, Norma Crowe, Oklahoma City, and Louise Miller, Everett, WA; two special adopted daughters, Arlie and Alice; seven grandchildren, Jack Crowe, Billy Crowe and family, Bobby Crowe and family, and Jana Dickson and family of Oklahoma City, Mike and Ronnie Fuller, Everett, WA, Junior Yost, San Bernadino, CA; 16 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; one brother, Will Bowerman and family, McAlester, OK; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marion; and grandson, Donnie. Rose will be remembered for her special love and concern for others and for being there when someone needed her. Our family would like to offer our special thanks to Gaye Yeary, a good friend who was there with Rose in the hospital and at home to comfort her and Helen Dickson, a special home health aid who was her friend, who gave her tender loving care for several years. The family also thanks the Hospice of Central Oklahoma for being there for us especially Bill White, Chaplain, who offered our family spiritual guidance and Phyllis Hathaway, R.N. Nurse. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2002, in the Little Chapel of the Roses in Resthaven Memory Gardens with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
