Jones, 76, died August 19, following a long illness. He is survived by his wife Carol Dawson Jones of the home; five children: including Charles T. Jones, Michael T. Jones, Susan Vinyard, Amy Archer (living in other states) and Marjorie Jones Cobb and her husband Kevin Cobb of Oklahoma City, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was born in Springfield, Mo. to parents Hershul 'Huck' and Margery Major Jones. He was educated at Central H.S. (45) and the university of Heidelberg, Germany. Serving in the U.S. Army of Occupation; he was a reporter on the newspaper STARS AND STRIPES. Following his European duty, he settled in California and served as a U.S. Army instructor for ROTC. While in California his first family was established. He was active in California Republican Party Politics, serving as Legislative Liaison to Governor Goodwin Knight. He returned to Okla. to work in Henry Bellmon's campaign as the first Republican Governor in Oklahoma. Settling in OKC, he married Carol Dawson and his last child Marjorie was born. He served the Oklahoma Savings and Loan League as Exec. Vice Pres. and Legislative Advocate, also the U. S. League of Savings and Loans in Chicago and Washington, D.C. He loved his family, The political arena, consulting and sharing stories with family and friends. He was a writer and enjoyed working on his memoirs. He was a past President of the Oklahoma Association of Trade Executives, the national organization of Savings Associations Trade Executives. He was an active member of the North West/ Cassady Kiwanis Club, the International Mensa Society and Toastmasters International. Services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City at 1:00 p.m. Monday August 22nd. Charles was an active member of the B&F Sunday School Class and a volunteer in the Mobile Meals program. Memorials are suggested to Wesley UMC or Wesley's Mobile Meals program.
