Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Donna Johnston, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canyon, officiating. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, in First United Methodist Church of Canyon. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Jones was born in Abilene to Edgel Leon Martin and Elizabeth Brock Martin. She was raised in Paducah and Abilene by her maternal grandparents, George and Fannie Brock. Peggy married J. Keith Jones in Oklahoma City on June 4, 1948, after graduating from Oklahoma State University. Peggy was active in First United Methodist Church of Canyon as well as Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity at West Texas State. She was a member of several bridge clubs and the museum auxiliary. Peggy was an avid supporter of the arts, music and social life in the Panhandle. She was preceded in death by her husband of Canyon; and a sister, Betty M. Robertson of Amarillo. Survivors include a daughter, Melody Jones Hull and husband, Andy; two grandchildren, Madeline and Oran; a half-sister, Kaye Holzberlein of Sulphur, Okla.; and five half-brothers, Ed, Tom, Dan, Mike and Bill Martin of Oklahoma and Texas. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, 1818 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015; or Hidden Falls Ranch, P.O. Box 136, Wayside, TX 79094.
