All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Memorial Park Cemetery--OKC OK Johnson, Jean Marie Jean Marie passed away Thursday, February 6, 2003 at her home in Oklahoma City after a period of declining health and is now with her heavenly father. She was born April 5, 1922 to Alfred and Claudia Eastland. She was a graduate of Classen High School. She married Jesse T. Johnson, Jr. April 4, 1942 and they had two children. Jean loved music, she had a beautiful singing voice and taught piano lessons for many years. She was involved with her children's school activities including PTA and Cub Scout Den Mother and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, painting, collecting dolls and gardening. Jean and Jesse spent several years traveling together with his work for the railroad. During this time they started visiting farm auctions and antique shops along the way and became interested in collecting antiques. They shared many happy memories of these years. She also enjoyed genealogy work, researching and learning about her ancestors that came to America circa 1677. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Baptist Church, being baptized in 1934, and enjoying many long and lasting friendships there. She also taught Sunday school for thirty years in the beginners department. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joyce Morgan, and infant grandson. Jean Marie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jesse T. Johnson, son and daughter in law, Harvey and Linda Johnson of Yukon, daughter and son in law, Janis and Phillip Hartoon, Tecumseh; grandchildren, Trisha Johnson and Melanie Johnson, both of Oklahoma City, and great grandson, Seth, her pride an joy. Sister Betty Sue Bixler of Oklahoma City and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Hospice of Oklahoma City for their loving and devoted care. Donations may be made to Trinity International Baptist Church, Baptist Children's Home or Hospice of Oklahoma City, 2112 NW 50th, OKC, OK 73112. Services will be Monday, February 10, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity International Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
