"Beep" Jennings died Thursday January 2, 2003 in Oklahoma City following a brief illness. He was born on November 9, 1923 in Healdton, Oklahoma to Owen "Al" and Mary Jennings. He graduated from the Oklahoma Military Academy in 1942, the University of Oklahoma where he received an undergraduate degree in business and The University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1950. He received his commission and his wings in the Army Air Corp. and served his country in the South Pacific during World War II and in France during the Korean conflict. He maintained his love of flying throughout his life. He enjoyed a long career in banking in Healdton, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City. Following retirement, he enjoyed operating a commercial tree farm and staying active in a number of community organizations. Beep was an active member of the community, belonging to a number of organizations, and serving on numerous boards including being the past President of the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce, a past board member of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and currently serving on the Board of The Education and Employment Ministry. He had been a long and active member of the United Methodist Church of Nichols Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Jerry Jennings, his five daughters, Susan Robertson of Oklahoma City, Karen Tidholm of Houston, Christy Robertson of Oklahoma City, Martha Smith of Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Manning of Fort Worth, four granddaughters, Elaine Tidholm, Emily Tidholm, Julie Tidholm and Lucy Robertson and seven grandsons, Jacob Robertson, Matthew Robertson, David Robertson, Isaac Manning, Henry Manning, Heyward Manning and Coles Manning. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Nichols Hills, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or The Education and Employment Ministry. A memorial service will be at the United Methodist Church of Nichols Hills at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 4.
