All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Kelly, Talva Jean Cousins Talva Jean Cousins Kelly 10/24/37 8/29/2002 passed away in Midwest City Hospital after a long battle with Polio complications. She attended Bodine Elementary School through the 2nd grade. After Polio she went to Williams Jenning Bryan School for handicaps through the 8th grade. She graduated from S.E. High School. Married Galen Kelly 1960. She loved to ride behind him on his motorcycle, tying her crutches to the cycle. They made many trips. Post Polio Syndrome hit her in 1980 and she went from crutches to a wheelchair where she 'lived' until May 11, 2002, when she became bedfast. She was in and out of the hospital 8 times this year. She finally lost her long battle and final struggle. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, with her upbeat personality, and uncomplaining spirit. Always with a smile for every one. She loved people. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Cousins, 2 brothers John & Thomas Cousins. Survived by her son, John; mother, Oma; sister, Pat; 2 foster daughters Sammi & Angela, and numerous nieces, nephews & friends. She was 'mother' to many children as she was a 'baby sitter' for the last 30 years. She loved and cherished them all. She donated her body to Science in hopes of helping someone else from suffering as she suffered. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made to: OU Foundation at: OU Health Sciences Center, Willed Body Program, P.O. Box 26901, OKC, OK 73190.
