Kouri, 96, a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, passed away January 23, 2003. Mollie was born December 24, 1906 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Adwon & Matilda Massad Adwon. Leaving high school prior to graduation she took a job with the Salvation Army. On January 29, 1928 she married Ed Kouri who died in 1980. In December 1942 she accepted an entrylevel job as a Clerk-Typist at Tinker Field. When she retired 32 years later as a Supervisory Property Disposal Specialist, Branch Chief in the Air Surveillance Branch, she was the highest-ranking civilian woman at Tinker Field. Mollie's most cherished work related award was her nomination for the Federal Woman's Award in 1960. A voracious reader with an inquisitive mind, she loved nothing better than to curl up with a book. The mobile branch librarian near her home claimed that Mollieo was her best customer until her eyesight failed. In her younger years she enjoyed square dancing playing cards and gardening. Although the middle child of 9 her four brothers and four sisters preceded Mollieo in death. Several nieces, nephews and friends who enjoyed her belief and encouragement in them survive her. A Graveside Service was held January 27, 2003, at Fairlawn Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
