All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Resthaven Memory Gardens--OKC OK Kelly, Clay Clay Kelly went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2003. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, he passed away at his home in Oklahoma City with his loving wife Marilyn by his side. Mr. Kelly was born on April 15, 1931, to Henry and Stella Kelly, in Kellyville, OK, and later moved with his family to Sapulpa, OK, where he graduated from Sapulpa High School. He married his beloved wife Marilyn Stansbury on August 18, 1966. Their love for one another is immeasurable and has been an inspiration. She cared for 'her Kelly' throughout his long illness and will miss him forever. He was a devoted husband and father, and had always been 'more than he had to be' to his daughter, Conni. His lifetime career was in the retail grocery business, where he managed supermarkets for 50 years. He enjoyed his work and spending time with his family, and was happiest when sitting by the fireplace with his wife beside him, his beloved dog in his lap, working a crossword puzzle or crypto quote in pen. He also loved watching football, especially the OU Sooners. He had always been known for his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. He was a joy to those who knew him and he left an indelible mark on them. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his laughter will forever fill our hearts with joy. He had a wisdom and philosophy on life that guided him and others through the turbulent times. His family will draw upon his strength and courage for the rest of their lives. Mr. Kelly could not serve in the military, but had unwavering patriotism and support for this country and the military men and women who protect our freedoms. He loved animals of all kinds, and was a member of the Humane Society and the World Wildlife Fund. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Kelly, of the home, daughter Conni Allen, of Oklahoma City, son Dr. Mark Kelly of Laurel, Mississippi, brother Cecil Kelly and wife Pat of Panama City, FL, sister Jean Caldwell and husband Norman of Sapulpa, OK, sisterin-law Opal Kelly of Sapulpa, brother-in-law Jim Stansbury and wife Sherry of Colorado Springs, and five granddaughters.
