All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Hillcrest Cemetery--Ardmore OK Lawton Constitution August 18, 2003 Buren Edwin 'Mort' King Funeral for Buren Edwin "Mort" King, 79, Burneyville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Falconhead Christian Fellowship Chapel, Burneyville, with the Rev. Lamoin Champ officiating. Mr. King died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Ardmore, under direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home. He was born in Oklahoma City on February 20, 1924, to Creed H. and Dora Ann Bolding King Sr. He graduated from Lawton High School and later attended Louisiana State University before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He married Allie Mae Hanks on November 14, 1942 in Lawton. During his military career, he worked as an aircraft maintenance technician and rose to the rank of chief master sergeant, receiving numerous awards and decorations. He served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After his retirement from the military in 1975, he worked for Northrop Aviation for 12 years. He was a pilot and an avid golfer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Burkburnett, Texas, and Mount Scott Masonic Lodge 540, Lawton, where he served for 50 years. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in- law: Robert C. and Ann-Kristen King, The Woodlands, Texas; Wayne E. and Cookie King Sr., Peachtree City, Ga.; a brother, Creed H. King Jr., Falconhead; three grandchildren: Wayne King Jr., Atlanta; Scott King, Peachtree City; and Georgia and Koree Chisham, Alexandria, Va.; three great-grandchildren: Brody and Kasey King, Peachtree City; and Lauren King, Atlanta; and his dog Chipper. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, Inc. 1200 4th Street NW, Wilson, Okla.; or to Falconhead Christian Fellowship Chapel, P.O.
