Lee Jr. died unexpectedly at home in Crested Butte, Colorado on September 18, 2002. Bob was born in 1944 in Oklahoma City to Robert E. and Jane S. Lee. He was graduated from Harding High School, attended OU and then graduated from Oklahoma City University. Bob and Anne Reniers were married in Tulsa in 1967. The early years of Bob's business career were spent as an executive and stockholder of Lee Way Motor Freight, a transcontinental motor carrier founded by his grandfather, R.W. Lee. PepsiCo acquired Lee Way in 1976 and since then Bob has devoted his time and energy to personal investments including significant activity in the oil and gas industry. The most important things in life, to Bob, were his family, friends and his love for animals. Winter, summer, fall and spring he marveled at the mountain color and he died the morning of the first snowfall of the season. Bob is survived by Anne Reniers Lee and two children; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Hughes of Tulsa; a son and daughter-in-law Robert E. Lee III and Leesa Lee of Houston. Bob adored his grandchildren: Lindsey, William, Bobby and Margaret Anne. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Linda Lee Carpenter of Durant and Oklahoma City and Terry Lee Bradley of Oklahoma City and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held in Crested Butte on September 21 at The Union Congregational Church. The memorial service in Oklahoma City will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on September 24th at 3:00 P.M. Bob's ashes will be scattered across his beloved mountaintops. Those who wish to memorialize Bob may do so by donating to the Oklahoma County Historical Society or Mercy Hospital Foundation. Bob will be missed dearly by the many lives he touched.
