All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lippe, Adolph Carl Adolph Carl, 81, of Midwest City passed away peacefully at home, with his loving wife Margie at his side, on August 10, 2002. Carl was born in Priddy, Texas, on June 11, 1921, the fourth oldest of eleven children born to Otto and Adelheid Lippe. He lived and worked on the family farm until he left home in 1940 to work at a National Youth Administration camp. Later that same year he joined Army Air Corps training as an aircraft mechanic. In July 1942, while taking a bus back to his base in Phoenix, he met the love of his life, Margie Lee Wooden. They would wed the following July 2, 1943, and began what would be a 59 year romance of Christian faith, love and true companionship. In October 1944, Carl was shipped overseas where he served in the Pacific Theatre in New Guinea, the Philippines and Okinawa, serving as a crew chief on A-20 attack bombers. A decorated veteran, he was subsequently discharged in October 1945 and began his life anew with wife Margie Carl was a career civil servant, retiring from Tinker Air Force Base in 1977 after 37 years of service. He subsequently worked in the Real Estate business until 1999. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church for over 50 years. He was active in the Holy Name and St. Vincent DePaul Societies, and served in many leadership positions within the church. He was also a member of the Oklahoma City Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. He and Margie devoted 18 years of service to the National Marriage Encounter organization, sharing with other married couples their stories of coping with life's many ups and downs through their strong Christian faith. Carl was preceded in death by son David and daughter Linda; parents Otto and Adelheid Lippe; brothers Otto, Fritz and George (Shorty) and sisters Martha and Arlene. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margie; children Carl (Randy) and wife Myrna of Midwest City; Dennis and wife Karen of Midwest City; John and wife Josie of Oklahoma City; Bruce and wife Susan of Midwest City; Greg and wife Robin of Oklahoma City; Patricia and husband Stephen Dixon of Midwest City; Mike and wife Mischelle of Midwest City; Robert and wife Lisa of Austin, Texas; and Cindy and husband Joe Riggall of Oklahoma City; sisters Ella Grelle of Clifton, Texas; Meta and husband Ronald Mitchell of Spring, Texas; and Edna Pollis of Norman, Oklahoma; brothers Edwin and wife Grace Lippe of Austin, Texas; and Rueben Lippe of Wylie, Texas. In addition, Carl is survived by 30 grandchildren and their spouses, 16 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, extended family and a lifetime of friends. All who knew him had the benefit of his boundless love and Christian example, as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Memorials may be made to the St Vincent DePaul Society at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1107 Felix Place, Midwest City, Oklahoma 73110. A Vigil Service will be held Monday evening, August 12th at 7:00 P.M. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with Right of Christian Burial Mass to be celebrated the following Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M., with burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Edmond. Mass to be concelebrated by Fathers Charles Murphy and John Feehily. Services are under the direction of Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home, Midwest City, Oklahoma. Barnes & Johnson F.H. 1820 S.
