All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lakin, Ronne Lee Ronne Lee, 67, passed away Wednesday, September 11th, 2002, surrounded by his loving children. He was born April 18th, 1935 in Oklahoma City to the late Clem and Rena Lakin. He was a 1953 graduate of Midwest City High School and then joined the Marine Corp where he served until 1960. He started his civil servant career at Tinker Air Force Base in 1956 where he reached GM-13 Grade and served as Manpower Chief until his retirement in 1990. He married Barbara Blake in 1956 and had three daughters. He married his second wife, Luella McCarty in 1968, and had two sons. He has four grandchildren who loved his big voice and big heart. He was a true sports nut who loved any baseball game, anywhere, anytime. He was a big Sooner fan and spent his last Saturday in Norman at the OU game. He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Lakin-Poepoe and husband Andrew of New Jersey, Karen Hanford and husband Bob of Broken Arrow, and Kim Lakin of Tahlequah; sons Jason Lakin and wife Kayla of Edmond and John Lakin of Dallas; granddaughters, Heather and Jennifer Hanford; grandsons Drew and Matthew Lakin Poepoe; brother Ralph Lakin, sister-in-law Liz Bradford and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. May we all learn to enjoy life as much as he did. Services will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 10AM at Sunny Lane Freewill Baptist Church at 4221 SE 41st Street, Del City, OK.
