All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Loeffler III, Louis Louis Loeffler III, beloved local physician, husband and father, died in a farm accident on his property on July 14, 2002. He was born April 22, 1946 in Oklahoma City and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1964. He loved scouting and attained the level of Eagle Scout. He graduated from OSU with honors in 1968 in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He went on to get his Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 1973. He graduated from OU Medical School in 1976. Beginning in 1977 until the present, he worked in the emergency department at Unity Health Center, North Campus (formerly known as Shawnee Regional Hospital.) Louis is survived by his wife, the former Christine Beer, whom he married on June 14, 1981. Born to the Loefflers were daughters, Jessie in 1984 and Katherine in 1993. He is also survived by his parents, Dorris and Louis Loeffler, Jr. of Oklahoma City, sisters Dr. Diana Loeffler of Phoenix, AZ and Patsy Driskill of Houston, TX and brother Alan Loeffler of Oklahoma City. He left behind many nieces and nephews who will always remember Uncle Lou. He will also be missed by the many friends, neighbors, patients, and coworkers whose lives he touched. He loved his farm, duck hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He walked down his lane at night with Chris and went sledding and boating with his daughters. His nephews enjoyed special times camping and fishing with him. His farm shows evidence of his loving care everywhere. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 18th, at 10:00 am. at Fairview Baptist Church in Earlsboro with Rev. Richard Stillwell and Rev. John Vincent, officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17 from 9:00 am. until 8:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 210 West Walnut Street in Tecumseh. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Unity Health Center Volunteer Program for the ER or Ducks Unlimited are suggested.
