Morris E., 74, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2002 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born March 3, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Morris retired from Tinker AFB in 1983. He had a passion for water skiing, motorcycles, and old cars. He was a kind, and generous soul, always extending a helping hand to the less "fun kid inside" and was onery to the end. Morris is survived by four daughters, Deborah Scott and husband Ray of Del City, Gayle Abshure and husband Alton of Norman, Joanne Minnie of CO, and Vicki Emholtz and husband Richard of Bridgecreek; one brother, Gary Long of OKC; seven grandchildren, Chris, Robin, Dena, M'Lisa, Blake, Kelsey, and Amanda; step-grandchildren, Natalie, Richard, Melanie, Brandon, and Bryan; great grandchildren, Haley and Josiah; former wife and friend, Maurine Van Auken of MWC; and beloved dog, Pepper. He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Long; his mother, Rose Long Whitley; and brother, John Long. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 26, 2002 in the Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
